Support for the Heath Ledger Scholarship
We're delighted to sponsor the 2016 Australians in Film Heath Ledger Scholarship, awarded to Ashleigh Cummings for exhibiting distinctive and unique potential.
As the unofficial boot of filmmakers everywhere, Blundstone is proud to support those who are working to evolve their career in the industry.
“Blundstone has a natural affinity with the film industry and we are proud to be associated with a cause that provides a young filmmaker with the opportunity to further his/her career,” says Andrew Ross, Blundstone’s international sales executive. “We are honored to be part of AiF as a way to connect to our roots in an industry that has always been so supportive of the brand.”
In her acceptance speech, Ashleigh said, "Blundstone, I want to thank you for acknowledging the importance of art in our world, and for your contribution toward it. Thank you for having faith in the next generation, for giving us a fighting chance with your generosity of time, money and effort. With your support, we are educated by the scholarship in innumerable ways, and education is where a rich future-world grows."
The nominees for the scholarship included Christian Antidormi (Spartacus: War of the Damned, Home and Away), Mojean Aria (The Bronx Bull), Natasha Bassett (Hail, Caesar!), Chloe Bayliss (Backtrack), Shareena Clanton (Wentworth Prison, Last Cab to Darwin), Georgia Flood (Home and Away), Sean Keenan (Strangerland), Uli Latukefu (upcoming Alien: Covenant) and Meyne Wyatt (Neighbours, Strangerland, The Sapphires).

Blundstone continues to nurture its relationship within the film industry through past and recent sponsorships of film festivals such as Sundance Film Festival, Hamptons International Film Festival and Sonoma International Film Festival as well as support opportunities such as AiF that give young filmmakers the opportunity to grow.
